Systems biology uses a cross-disciplinary approach to studying biological and disease networks. ISB scientists are trained in such diverse fields as biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, computing, mathematics, medicine, immunology, biochemistry, oceanography, astronomy and genetics.
Many ISB faculty members maintain affiliate appointments with academic institutions such as the University of Washington, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Caltech University.
