Regular, full-time employees who work more than 32 hours per week are eligible for ISB’s benefit plans on the 1st of the month following hire. Eligible dependents (spouse, child, domestic partner) may also be covered on the medical, dental, and vision plans. Benefits may change at any time.
ISB offers a comprehensive medical plan through Premera Blue Cross. ISB covers 100% of the premium cost for employees and 85% of the premium cost for dependents. The plan offers nationwide and international coverage, and includes benefits for preventive care, hospitalization, rehabilitative therapy, and alternative care. The plan features a $200 individual deductible, a 10% coinsurance for hospital services, and a $15 office visit copay. Prescriptions are covered on a two-tiered co-pay basis, and a mail order plan option offers additional savings.
ISB’s plan with Washington Dental Service covers most dentists in the state. ISB covers 100% of the premium cost for employees and 85% of the premium cost for dependents. There is no deductible provided participants see a PPO dentist. The plan covers 100% of diagnostic and preventive services, 90% of basic work and 60% of the cost of major services. Orthodontia is not covered, but employees can use a flexible spending account to help pay for those services.
ISB’s plan with Vision Service Plan offers access to a large number of vision care providers in the state. ISB covers 100% of the premium cost for employees and 85% of the premium cost for dependents. After a $25 deductible, the plan covers 100% of the costs of the basic examination, eyeglass lenses, and frames up to a $130 value. For an additional co-pay of $50 for the fitting exam, participants may also get a year’s supply of contact lenses. Participants can utilize the glasses and contact benefit in the same service year. Participants may also access a discount on Lasik surgery.
ISB offers a generous 403(b) retirement plan with a wide variety of fund options available. ISB contributes 3% of an employee’s pay, and will match up to 5% of the employee’s contribution. All funds are immediately vested and there is no waiting period to enroll.
ISB offers generous paid time off including vacation time starting at a minimum three weeks per year, 12 sick days per year, and 10 paid holidays per year.
Participants may put away pre-tax funds to help cover the costs of eligible out of pocket expenses. The annual limits are $2,500 for the health care account and $5,000 (per family) for the dependent care account.
ISB pays the cost of a life and accidental death/dismemberment policy for the employee with a benefit amount of 1x the employee’s annual salary. Employees may purchase additional coverage for themselves, spouses, and/or children.
ISB pays the cost of short and long-term disability benefits for eligible employees. Short term disability provides 60% of a claimant’s weekly income for up to 11 weeks after a 14 day elimination period. Long term disability provides 60% of a claimant’s monthly income after a 90 day elimination period; the duration and amount of the LTD benefit varies depending on age and other factors.
In addition to a great work environment, ISB provides a free ORCA transit pass, an employee assistance program, long-term care insurance, and group travel/accident insurance. Employees participate in on-site social functions such as themed BBQs and enjoy an annual holiday party.
