Systems biology research is highly dependent upon extensive laboratory facilities complimented with robust computational infrastructure. The computational resources are critical to all phases of research, ranging from collecting and storing raw experimental data, reducing and reviewing data, visualizing, correlating and analyzing data, and ultimately evaluating and validating experimental hypotheses and models. Computational resources are also essential for developing models of biological systems in the abstract, and disseminating data and tools to the research community at large. ISB´s Information Technology department offers several Central Services to assist the scientific mission of Institute by offering a variety of storage and computation services to meet these needs. The facility operates on a fee for service basis for internal ISB and external users.

Services and Equipment Offered:

• Central Storage: File storage space offered on a per GB increment with weekly off-site backups.
• Central Computation: Access to a cluster of modern 8 core high memory computation nodes running Sun Grid Engine.
• Container based hosting for internal and external websites.
