Research Associate 3 Job #08-023
The Aderem Lab at ISB is seeking several research associates. The position involves experimental research on the mechanisms by which the innate immune system defends against pathogenic microorganisms. Specifically, the research associates will be participating in projects that explore the role of immunity in human infectious diseases.
Candidates should be comfortable with vivarium work and working with infected tissues. Training in these techniques will be provided. Candidates should have a bachelor´s degree, and have had several years of experience working in a laboratory. Familiarity with the following techniques is an asset, but not required:
- Sub-cellular fractation of organelles
- Measuring Mammalian protein expression (Western blots)
- Over-expression studies, including molecular cloning techniques and generation of stable mammalian cell lines.
- Gene knockdown techniques (siRNA)
- Tissue culture, including confocal microscopy and immunostaining
- Flow cytometry
- Experience using Excel worksheets and data analysis
